The 1,054-room Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the newest luxury hotel in the City of Boston, and the most significant hotel project in the city for the last forty years. The property features seven outlets for drinking and dining, a signature spa, fitness center, and rooftop pool. It boasts more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and caters to the most discerning clientele.

Job Description

The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is seeking an experienced Social Media & Marketing expert to join their team!

Our Social Media & Marketing Manager is tenacious, organized, detail oriented, results-driven and is responsible for collaborating with the Marketing team to strategize and execute a proactive, measurable, and effective marketing plan that leverages internal and external communication in order to maximize revenue and awareness for Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport. This person will work with each business unit leader to develop programs and campaigns that include traditional and digital marketing initiatives. This individual will also identify incremental marketing opportunities ranging from partnerships, third-party programs, DMOs and CVBs.

The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is located in the center of the bustling Seaport District. The AAA Four Diamond rated hotel boasts 1,054 finely appointed guestrooms with 52 suites, seven delectable dining experiences, a scenic rooftop pool, a luxury Breve Spa, and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space allowing to provide each guest a unique and memorable experience. Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Marketing with the development and execution of a comprehensive and strategic marketing plan that supports the resorts’ seasonal business goals and the customer journey (spanning group, leisure, local, business traveler). Ensure the storytelling of the resort’s offerings, experiences and unique positioning are pulled through across all sales and marketing touchpoints to consumers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Revenue Management, Director of Activities, agency partners and other department heads to develop and execute a resort calendar (content, promotional, programming/activations). Work closely with the Director of Marketing on the annual budget/strategic planning process for the upcoming year.
  • Produce/publish weekly and monthly communication pieces to both internal and external customers (eNewsletter, Resort Activity Guide, etc.) within brand guidelines
  • Work with Director of Marketing, promotes on-brand messaging to guests through traditional, digital, and social media channels with the goal of driving revenue, branding, and supporting total hotel goals (including restaurants and spa)
  • Provide advertising support in the development of creative assets for the purpose of generating incremental hotel visibility via digital, print, & PR.
  • Serve as the marketing leader, in partnership with the Director of Marketing, sales, revenue and other department leaders, to ensure marketing strategies and objectives support broader commercial goals.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the hotel, ensuring compliance with Omni brand standards across all customer touchpoints and the resort’s local positioning in the marketplace. Leverage the corporate brand, marketing, and digital and CRM/Loyalty team for maximum efficiency.
  • Assist the Director of Marketing in the creation and distribution of all resort photography and videos, to ensure that assets are on-brand and support the resorts’ business objectives. Collaborate with department heads to ensure that visual assets are curated and socialized across cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as a point of contact in tandem with the Director of Marketing for agency partners (Social, PR, et. al), ensuring strategic pull through of resort messaging and positioning. Review and assess partner alignment and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
  • Stay apprised of marketing best practices and make strategic recommendations. Understand and know the competitive landscape. Develop a strategic monthly content calendar for social media including content themes, video, stills and engage with follows to grow hotel social channel presence, reach and engagement.
  • Work with Omni Digital Marketing teams to manage property’s online presence across local listings (Yelp, GMB, TripAdvisor etc.) and digital storefronts including Hotel Website.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, on property, mobile/SMS, video and print.
  • Carry out general positive engagement with commenters on social channels, including omnihotels.com, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TripAdvisor, Yelp, and YouTube.
  • Arranges hotel tours /site visits for social guests, media, ad hoc requests, etc.

PARTNERSHIPS & PROGRAMMING/ACTIVATIONS

  • Assist the Director of Marketing in implementing the marketing strategy for the hotel
  • Works in tandem with property Director of Marketing to set overarching partnership strategy for hotel
  • Identifies and cultivates partnerships with local DMOs, media partners, music, and entertainment
  • Work cross functionally (sales, catering services, spa, golf, activities, food & beverage) to identify programming and activations that align with property positioning and marketing strategy
  • Lead quarterly brainstorm sessions with cross functional teams to understand upcoming needs and secure buy-in for upcoming programming
  • Execute marketing strategy for programming and events, including development of briefs and creative assets for specialized creative
  • Managing hosted influencer and PR media visits including itinerary development, securing hotel & restaurant reservations, customizing experiences, and outlining clear deliverables as to what success looks like
  • Coordinating content to highlight events, programming and resort activations through to social and PR agencies
  • Develop event or partnership reports or presentations that represent the efforts of the resort for internal stakeholders and the results that have been realized.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Degree in communications, marketing, or similar
  • Minimum of 2-4 years progressive experience in resort marketing, restaurant marketing, social catering or event venue programming with responsibility over marketing, digital and communications and execution.
  • Robust creative and design skills with the ability to balance multiple projects at one time
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, proofreading)
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders to activate and program spaces (and create experiences) in order to drive resort buzz, local foot traffic and outlet/resort revenue
