POSITION OVERVIEW

As an Prep Cook at Occasions Catering, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen.

You will work closely with our culinary team to prepare ingredients, assist in the cooking process, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced catering environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the preparation of ingredients for various recipes, including chopping, slicing, and portioning
• Follow standardized recipes and instructions to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, mixers, and food processors
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution of orders
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety of our guests and staff
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and storing ingredients properly

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required
• Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff
• Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one upon hiring
