Obélix is a French Restaurant located in River North that provides a french bistro experience through the lens of two brothers who grew up in Chicago.

Obélix was recently named a finalist for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation, the only restaurant in Chicago nominated in this category.

Additionally we received top honors from Chicago Magazine for Best New Restaurant in 2022.

The team at Obélix is looking to grow and add a Service Manager / Assistant Wine Manager to our team. This is an entry level management position with room to grow.

Previous management experience is not required, but interest and experience managing a wine inventory / program is highly desirable in the right candidate.

Responsibilities :

• Reviewing daily sales reports and tip calculations
• Menu edits for service
• Running pre-shift and the floor during service
• Assisting with the wine program (receiving orders / checking inventory / updating staff on wine)
• Work with the host team to keep detailed and accurate guest notes
• Training new hires
• Maintain restaurant ambiance by adjusting lighting and music to fit the room
• Obélix maintains the right to add or subtract responsibilities as necessary

You :

• Have a passion providing warm and unpretentious service to a variety of guests with different backgrounds
• Consider hospitality your career and are looking to grow into bigger roles over time.
• Experience with french cuisine a plus
• Intermediate level wine knowledge
• Be able to work 4-5 days per week (45-50 hours per week) with open availability Thursday through Monday for both brunch and dinner shifts
