Job Description

North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, MT is looking to hire a Full-Time Salaried Benefits Administrator to join our team. We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company. We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self. As a Benefits Administratorat North 40, you play a crucial role in managing and administering our comprehensive employee benefits programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various benefits plans (including but not limited to health, dental, vision, and retirement), regulatory compliance, and best practices in benefits administration. This role requires excellent communication skills, a high degree of discretion, and the ability to provide exceptional support to our employees.

This full-time position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm. As this is a salaried position you are expected to work 50 hours a week. This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, life insurance, retirement, and wellness programs
  • Coordinate with benefits providers to resolve issues, maintain accurate plan information, and negotiate the best possible terms for our employees
  • Manage the benefits enrollment process, including educating employees on their benefits options and ensuring a smooth and efficient enrollment experience
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations affecting benefits plans and ensure compliance with all legal requirements
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and distribute materials related to benefits programs, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in the evaluation of current benefits programs and the development of new programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident, and death claims, QNEC, QACM, and compliance testing
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee PTO records
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans
  • Perform plan audits. Prepare, collect and organize data for actuarial assessments. Review data in conjunction with actuarial evaluation task forces
  • Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Prepare budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying, and reconciling of budgeted funds
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies & maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
  • Assist HR manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company
  • Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, new-hire, and absentee reports
  • Assist HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration or a similar role preferred
  • Thorough understanding of benefits-related laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits management software: ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, MEDICARE, and SOCIAL SECURITY AND DOL REQUIREMENTS.
