North Texas Behavioral Health Authority is Hiring a CTI Care Coordinator Near Dallas, TX

Care Coordinator - CTI CC Critical Time Intervention – Community Based Field work. Position will be assigned by the county you reside in.

NTBHA is the Local Behavioral Health Authority (LBHA) contracted by Texas Human Services Commission (HHSC) to provide mental health and substance use disorder services to qualified indigent consumers.

NTBHA is responsible for developing a collaborative system of care for individuals in crisis. We are focused on trauma-informed, resilience-oriented care in all services provided.

NTBHA is seeking a person with excellent organizational and clinical skills to work with various components of the Critical Time Intervention (CTI) Team. This position will assist in connecting referrals to the program in providing community jail release follow up and engagement, post-hospital discharge follow up and engagement, and coordinating appropriate behavioral health services responses.

The position will provide community-based services to individuals experiencing critical transitions who have been referred to the CTI program. The Care Coordinator will engage those individuals in intensive case management over a nine-month time frame. They will be responsible for a small caseload of individuals, facilitating services through the CTI phases before program discharge. They will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with community mental health agencies, mental health courts, county jails, and other relevant community services personnel regarding individuals in care to develop effective responses to individual’s unique needs.

Qualifications required:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, criminal justice, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in community mental health.
  • Experience in telephone or field crisis response teams is preferred.
  • Experience in providing psychosocial education, skills training, or assessments, particularly with the target population.
  • Experience with participating in a treatment team that develops and monitors treatment plans for persons with severe persistent mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of the Texas crisis response requirements.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in providing services to individuals with substance use diagnoses.
  • LCDC preferred.

Job duties, responsibilities, and skills:

  • Requires travel throughout the day and some work at night. You will be reimbursed according to federal guidelines for mileage and wear on vehicle.
  • Use NTBHA’s approved curriculum and assessments with clients.
  • Assist clients while they are in crisis in accessing appropriate mental health services.
  • Make accurate and effective assessments and recommendations regarding the client’s mental health needs.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with persons in crisis using modalities such as the CTI Model, Motivational Interviewing, and other relevant and appropriate methods in order to communicate and relate with callers in order to resolve crises.
  • Bilingual ability preferred but not required.
  • Hours and shift assignments will sometimes be outside of normal business hours.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software.
  • Must be able to work on and have knowledge of a PC (personal computer).
  • Duties and projects may be assigned or changed to meet business needs.
