This is an Accounting Technician I position located in the Contracts Payable Unit of the Accounts Payable Section.
The position approves a high volume of invoices related to grants, contracts, and construction projects. This includes auditing scanned backup documentation to ensure the correct information is attached and entered correctly in the NCDOT Accounting System. This includes assisting users with questions and problems processing the documents. The position communicates regularly with field personnel to ensure that invoices meet DOT and Internal Revenue policies/procedures. This includes running reports related to invoice processing. The position validates ACH information entered or deleted in the NCDOT Accounting System. This position is a backup to the other team members in the Contracts Payable Unit. The position completes special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Associate's degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution, or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of experience in accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
