Norlee Group is looking for a highly motivated Human Resource Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will utilize creative strategies, tactics, and processes for identifying, recruiting, and retaining top talent. This will include assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs for sourcing, recruiting, hiring, and orienting new team members. This individual will perform transactional HR duties and responsibilities as necessary.

What this Role Will Do:

  • Assists in workforce planning assessing the current and future workforce needs, to include understanding of government influence, economic conditions, business competition, and workforce demographics.
  • Sourcing for external candidates. This includes phone screening candidates, Conducting new hire orientations, etc.
  • Assists with Affirmative Action Tracking, applicant tracking, background checks, and legal compliance.
  • Screens applications/resumes and selects qualified applicants for the interview process.
  • Attends and participates in job fairs, as well as establishes partnerships with organizations.
  • Assists with employee benefits.
  • Assists with conducting exit interviews and additional surveys to monitor retention and engagement.
  • Maintains employee files.
  • Takes applicants through their onboarding paperwork, prepares materials for start date and e-verifies them within allowed time.
  • Updates the Onboarding, and Core HR systems.
  • Produces timely reports.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

You’ll be great fit if:

  • Work well in a fast paced environment, and continual change.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • One to three years’ experience in talent acquisition highly preferred. Experience in the construction/electrical industry is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and practical application of EEO laws, I-9 employment and eligibility verification, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, state law regulation of employment contracts, such as noncompete agreements or confidentiality requirements.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
