Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller for a temp-to-hire position in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, reporting, and analysis, as well as experience working in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include overseeing the company's financial activities, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and providing strategic guidance to senior management. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity for permanent employment based on performance during the initial temporary period
Responsibilities:
· Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
· Monitoring and analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvements
· Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
· Managing the company’s cash flow and working capital
· Coordinating and preparing year-end financial statements and tax returns
· Collaborating with senior management to make strategic financial decisions
· Providing leadership and guidance to the accounting team
· Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and best practices in financial management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred)
- CPA designation is highly desirable
- 3 years in Cost Accounting (Manufacturing) experience required
- Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency with accounting software (Sage experience is a plus)
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proven track record of successfully managing financial operations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
