Responsibilities

New York Tech’s Manhattan campus seeks an Assistant Director for Undergraduate admissions recruitment, who will execute a national strategic recruitment plan. This role is considered a hybrid/remote position that offers the flexibility of working remotely and in our NYC office, in line with NYTech policy. The Assistant Director will be responsible for meeting enrollment objectives in his/her designated territories, with a focus on national recruitment, as well as other duties and responsibilities to meet NYTech’s first-year and transfer student enrollment goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment activity in territories identified in strategic recruitment plan. Participate in college fairs, high school visits, and on-site admissions events within the territories. Provide guidance directors/counselors with up-to-date information about NYTech. Cultivate relationships with prospective students, their families, school counselors, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and other key stakeholders, providing up-to-date information about NYTech, and represent the institution within state, local and national professional associations.
  • Manage 6-10 week (annual) travel schedule that includes both local, regional, and national travel for assigned territories
  • Coordinate with Associate Directors to effectively plan and carry out recruitment, in alignment with strategic plan.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations regarding designated territories
  • Conduct and participate in virtual and on-campus yield events, including Information Sessions, Open House, and Admitted Student Days for all New York campuses.
  • Review all applications in assigned queue to determine eligibility for acceptance. Review and make decisions for all students who are participating in on-site admissions events. Reach out to our applicant pool via email, tele-counseling, and fixed communication.
  • After completion of math placement assessment, serve as a resource in assisting incoming students with planning class schedule during first semester.
  • Function as liaison to designated departments or special programs and provide support when needed.
  • Collaborate and strategize with members of the admissions team and other academic departments to expand recruitment and yield efforts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all constituents and perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Admissions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required; previous admissions experience is preferred.

Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and computer skills.

Must be available to travel and work nights and weekends when necessary.

A valid drivers’ license is required.
