As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of Human Resources to join our executive leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving our people strategy forward, constantly looking for ways to attract, develop, engage and retain talented individuals in a strong and supportive work culture. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee engagement & retention, performance management, staff training and development, employee relations and DEIB initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive human resources strategy with short and long-term planning for the department, including timeline, budget, and key metrics for success.
  • Leads a team of seven HR professionals and participates as a member of the Senior Management Team to provide a visible, and strong leadership presence across the organization.
  • Spearheads creative initiatives to enhance recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent for all positions within the organization.
  • Drives the talent management process, including workforce planning, talent assessment, career development, and succession planning.
  • Creates initiatives that foster a positive and engaging work environment, promoting a culture of teamwork that supports the well-being, professional growth and job satisfaction of all employees.
  • Oversees employee relations investigations, documentation, and recommended resolutions, collaborating with designated legal advisors as needed to provide expert counsel and guidance on complex employee matters.
  • Establishes appropriate HR functional metrics, analyzes workforce dynamics and trends, and translates data into meaningful recommendations for improving productivity and performance (e.g. employee turnover, performance ratings, engagement surveys, exit interviews).
  • Designs and implements employee learning and development programs to enhance individual and organizational capabilities.
  • Ensures effective benefits administration, including employee enrollment, retirement plans, leaves of absence, workers' compensation and unemployment claims, compliance, reporting, reconciliation, and answers employee inquires.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices, reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance, and oversees facilitation of training for employees on compliance related matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA in human resources, organizational development, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR leader; experience in the nonprofit sector or in organizations serving youth desirable.
  • Successful track record of progressive responsibility in human resources/talent management.
  • Working knowledge of all functional areas of human resources, including employee relations, recruiting, compensation and benefit administration, training and development and compliance.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the capacity to anticipate and proactively address HR-related challenges.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others, support and evaluate colleagues and reports, and maintain high morale and productivity.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong commitment to social impact.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The annual salary for this position is 165K . The VP of Human Resources in an on-site role, located in Sherman Oaks, CA.
