Job Description
The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Workers' Compensation Coordinator.
This is a full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Associate Director of Insurance & Workers' Compensation.
The position may be in either Las Vegas or Reno, Nevada.
The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions : three universities, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant challenges and opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 15,000 employees.
It is to ensure efficient and strategic management of the workers' compensation program, to ensure injured workers are receiving quality and prompt medical treatment.
The incumbent will streamline processes related to disability payments, the return-to-work program, medical separations related to workers' compensation and the receipt of vocational rehabilitation benefits.
They will stay up to date on legislative changes and industry trends as well as participate in associations to develop a strong foundation in workers' compensation administration best practices.
The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring claims costs, claim frequency, and trends. They will be responsible for creating goals and initiatives to reduce claims severity, claims frequency and fiscal expenditures.
STARTING SALARY : Schedule C (starting salary range approximately $75,000.00 to $80,000.00; depending on experience). A benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and retirement.
APPROXIMATE STARTING DATE : June 15, 2024
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The successful candidate must have earned a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with five (5) years of professional experience in Workers' Compensation Claims Administration and Risk Management, or Medical Office Administrative support, or Medical Benefits Administration experience.
Alternatively, ten (10) years of progressive experience in Workers' Compensation Claims Administration and Risk Management or Medical Office Administrative support or Medical Benefits Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Preference will be given to candidates in higher education experience and knowledge of Workday.
