Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for troubleshooting technical or software problems and resolving issues reported by the end-users. They will install and configure hardware and software. They will deliver high quality customer service while being able to resolve computer system software and hardware issues. This position serves as the first escalation point for level I technicians.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responds to issues reported by end-users in person or over the telephone on a timely basis.
  • Assesses the nature of the reported issue and determines a hardware or software resolution.
  • Effectively communicates (written/verbal) the solution to the end-user.
  • Documents issues and resolution steps clearly within the ticketing system.
  • Follow up with end-users to ensure that the problem has been resolved.
  • Manages multiple tickets of varying complexity at the same time.
  • Tests and evaluates new equipment and technologies.
  • Travels to remote sites to troubleshoot issues locally when necessary.
  • Collects user requirements and translates for technical and non-technical resources.
  • Mentor and guide new Support Techs.
  • Performs more complex procedures and tasks, including, but not limited to, System and Application access, remote access, access for mobile devices, and wireless network access.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7 years of hands-on Level III HelpDesk leadership in a healthcare environment
  • Strong HelpDesk management and administration
  • 7 years of working with ticketing system software.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of printer setups and overall network topology.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn new clinical and business application software.
  • Solid experience with clinical applications (Cerner Millennium, Dentrix, ScriptPro, Novarad (PACS) or related).
