Production Planning Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Operations

Position Overview: The goal of this position is to meet customer expectations of shipping every order on-time. In order to be successful, the employee must guide the planning process, identify obstacles early on, manage team members, and communicate effectively amongst the operations team and ancillary departments. The employee must communicate timely and with precise accuracy with Customer Service in regards to helping set customer expectations

Essential Job Functions:

• On time Delivery

• This is a very measurable goal that is tracked on NSA’s Quality Objective Data Report and reviewed twice a year by management
• Key customer accounts also grade NSA with on-time delivery through Customer Survey responses, fines, and their own metrics.
• Responsible for Communicating Customer Order Expectations throughout NSA
  • Be the point person for fielding customer service questions about orders
  • Be the point person for processing PROMISE requests
  • Coordinate production information in a manner that is efficient and accurate.
  • Publish the Daily Late/Open Order Report
  • Run key internal reports consistently to look ahead for key accounts, late orders, long lead time items, stock of strategic items, etc.
  • Work with Cutting to ensure planning and coordination of work is started on time to allow deadlines to be met
  • Always be in tune with daily incoming orders, looking for potential errors or challenges.
  • Ensure enough work is available for each work area
• Supervise staff
  • Manage staff to help with meeting shipping and operation goals and objectives.
  • Ensure communication and follow up of direct reports is timely and accurate

Qualifications: 

Education & Certifications: Bachelor Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a production planning role. Proven track record of being able to get things done in an efficient and organized manner.

Physical Requirements: A lot of walking throughout the day and moving orders from cart to cart to help organize and prioritize work

Working Conditions: Typical factory environment. Nothing hazardous that would require PPE.
