We are currently looking for a Full-Time

2nd Shift Production Supervisor t

to join our Team located in the Greater Chicago Facility headquarters location. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager.

Position Summary

Responsible for production lines to meet customer requirements and ISO 9001 : 2000 standards and following safety guidelines

Compensation (Based on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods
• Perform job functions in accordance with production order instructions and meet ISO 9001 : 2000 standards
• Measure goods using micrometers, measuring tapes and / or calipers and record measurements on proper forms
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals
• Perform and aid in general facility maintenance work area
• Maintain good communication with Plant Manager and other Charter Steel personnel as necessary
• Identify nonconforming product, follow the established procedures for reporting of nonconforming product, and communicate to Supervisor or Operator.
• Attend all meetings for safety, training, etc
• Advise supervisor and operator of any process problems
• Special projects as deemed necessary

Experience / Education Requirements

High school education, GED Or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• Knowledge of flat rolled carbon steel products
• Knowledge of steel slitter machines including their use, repair and maintenance
• Good supervisory skills for directing and coordinating staff
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
