NPW is seeking a highly organized, metrics driven, and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will provide support to home office, distribution centers, and store staff employing a high degree of professionalism and customer service focus. This position will report to the Controller.

Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
• Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Ability to research and analyze data and speak to trends
• Experience processing multi state sales tax
• Filing of annual tangible property tax returns and lease accounting as per ASC842

Educational & Skills Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance- Sales Tax, Bank Recs, Fixed Assets, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations, Research capabilities, Monthly Closings, Process and Procedures documentation.
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
• Experience with financial reporting requirements
• Excel and ERP systems
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand and/or walk the duration of the shift
• Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
