The energy transition poses challenging strategic questions for us as a business and for the wider sector. US Strategy leads on answering these strategic questions with leaders of National Grid's US operations in New York, New England and across the country and on behalf of the nearly six million customers they serve.
Within the US Strategy team, you will support the organization in defining its strategic direction and how to adapt to the changing energy environment, enabling net zero and driving the organization's future growth. The Director of US Strategy role is an important leadership position within the National Grid Group Strategy team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop the thinking and output of the Group Strategy team. This is likely to involve:
This role has multiple stakeholders and success will require experienced facilitation and coordination skills as well as the ability to challenge established thinking and lead discussions where necessary. Your voice will be an important one in these debates and your ability to influence and take senior stakeholders with you will be crucial to your success. You will take on a "coaching role" to share your skills and experience with the team and others beyond the immediate team.
The location of the role is Boston, MA with the option to work from home for part of the week. Travel to UK offices (Warwick and London) and US offices (Massachusetts and New York) for short trips is possible. The role reports to the Vice President of US Strategy and is part of National Grid's Strategy & Regulation organization.
Salary: $179,000 - $211,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
