Summary: Nanoscience Instruments markets, sells, and services scientific instrumentation. Our Phoenix headquarters is in need of an Operations Manager. The Operation Manager’s span of control includes Logistics, warehouse, ship/receive as well as order management.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Responsible for day-to-day functions of the Operations departments, ensuring goals are met or exceeded.
• Supervise day-to-day operation of shipping and receiving, warehouse management and inventory control.
• Work directly with international suppliers, placing PO’s, arranging freight carriers and inputting pricelists into an ERP system, carefully calculating margins.
• Creating and maintaining Supplier Scorecards, used as a strategic method of assessing and tracking vendor performance.
• Work directly with Nanoscience Instruments customers, processing orders and providing direct communication with regards to order status.
• Working with aged order report to manage customer delivery expectations, ensuring supplier’s delivery dates align and that any delays are communicated to customer effectively.
• Directly supervise a team of 3 - 5 Operations employees.
• Liaison with international and domestic freight carriers, produce scoring metrics (KPI) and negotiate best available pricing.
• Report and track department metrics, responding to internal and external customer inquiries. May need to elevate or work in conjunction with upper management to resolve complex issues.
• Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion, be accountable for the execution of the priorities.
• With specific direction from upper management, participate in staffing, terminations, disciplinary counseling, performance management and development.
• Evaluate processes to optimize product handling, product flow, and layouts.
• Operates as the “Go To” subject matter expert (SME) for operational matters within the team.
• Collaboration with Logistics Service Providers for warehousing, brokerage, and transportation to secure smooth operational execution.
• Oversight and Monitoring; regularly assess processes, performance metrics and KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement.

What We are Looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business or similar. Experience as a Lead or Manager within the Operations genre in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strategic planning and critical thinking skills are needed.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team within the Operations and/or Logistics departments.
• Strong people management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and management and mentor those who report through the position.
• Process oriented and focused, demonstrated ability to create process documentation such as SOP’s and/or flow charts.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Salesforce CRM experience a plus.
• Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to easily interpret and use statistics in day-to-day decision making.
• Advanced understanding of incoterms and related commercial responsibilities of import/export compliance.
