Job Summary:
Responsible for 75 Registered Nurses and 25 PCP’s – Will be working under the Nurse Manager. Someone with Telemetry, Pulmonary or Surgical experience - Schedule is Monday – Friday 3PM – 11:30 pm – Some flexibility for 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm – Must have experience working in a Hospital – This is a direct hire. Someone with a strong clinical background.
Utilizes knowledge and expertise in participation of case management to provide comprehensive, coordinated, seamless care to patients and their significant others. Resolves conflicts on the Patient Care Unit and uses established conflict resolutions techniques to steer and direct care team members towards an amicable solution. Manages Human and Material resources effectively and efficiently. Directs staff in Performance Improvement activities that improve patient outcomes, patient satisfaction and enhances organizational efficiency.
Requirements:
·Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience in health care management field.
·Bachelor’s Degree Required
·Master’s Degree Preferred
·RN License in good standing
·ACLS, BLS
·Experience in team based, Collective Bargaining environment desirable. Basic knowledge of regulatory agency requirements, establishment of staffing patterns and creation of staffing schedules required. Initiative, vision, creativity and flexibility a must. Must possess and maintain current American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BCLS).
·Must have ability to manage multiple projects and task at various stages of development
·Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of independent access to confidential patient and organization information and must be able to handle such information appropriately.

·Guides and assists care team members in meeting the standards and goals for themselves, the Care Center, and their patients.
·Encourages responsibility, accountability, and personal achievements of each care team member.
·Provides opportunities for care team members to pursue and move into areas of growth and development.
·Acts as mediator when care team members are unable to resolve a conflict.
·Works closely with all care team members in providing services, which enhance patient satisfaction.
·Assesses and evaluates staff competency and offers opportunities to enhance skills.
·In conjunction with the Care Center Educator, assesses the educational needs of the care team members and arranges for learning experiences.
·Provides an opportunity for formal and informal education to promote ongoing staff competency.
·Provides timely performance appraisals according to HR schedules and policies.
·Sets high but attainable standards for performance and inspires staff towards higher levels of achievement. Provides ongoing feedback to staff
·Counsels staff requiring discipline in a timely and fair manner according to Hospital Policy.
·Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of clinical practice by ensuring daily patient rounds and participation in quality of care activities.
·Ensures the patients’ condition is assessed and response to nursing care is evaluated and a patient care plan is initiated.
·Uses available resources and manages time effectively to accomplish critical tasks and projects.
·Balances clinical and managerial responsibilities.
·Achieves results and meets established deadlines.
·Effectively applies new concepts and techniques.
·Accepts responsibility for completing assignments.
·Work is consistently thorough and accurate.
·Ensures that staff and self complies with annual safety training requirements.
·Demonstrates safe work practices in the performance of all aspects of the job.
·Responds appropriately to emergency and crisis situations.
·Evaluates and modifies existing policies and procedures to ensure that they serve customer needs.
·Appropriately empowers staff to provide quality patient care.
