MoonDollars Bistro is Hiring a Sous Chef Near Rathdrum, ID

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in overseeing kitchen operations, maintaining food quality and consistency, and leading a team of passionate cooks. Responsibilities include:

Menu Development and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine menu offerings, ensuring they align with our culinary vision and seasonal ingredients
  • Execute menu items with precision and creativity, maintaining high standards of quality, taste, and presentation
  • Assist in the creation of daily and weekly specials to showcase culinary creativity and attract guests

Kitchen Management:

  • Supervise kitchen staff and ensure adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment while motivating team members to excel
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and maximize freshness
  • Implement and enforce proper food safety and sanitation practices to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Training and Development:
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance on culinary techniques, best practices, and safety procedures
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, encouraging team members to expand their culinary skills and knowledge
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support individual development and team success

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a high-volume restaurant or culinary establishment
  • Culinary degree or equivalent training and certification preferred
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for innovative and seasonal cooking techniques
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members across all levels of the organization
