The Montgomery County Board of Elections is seeking to fill three (3) Information Technology Technician II positions. This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for preparing election equipment in accordance with federal and state mandates to ensure voters in Montgomery County have the opportunity to cast their ballot securely and privately. The Employee will work under supervision of the Information Technology Specialist.
The position requires basic knowledge of election procedures and election equipment. This position will require attention to detail, the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
What you will be Doing
Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
The successful candidate must be available for work at the Board of Elections office in Gaithersburg on Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and during certain times of the year will be expected to work a wide range of hours including mandatory overtime on holidays, evenings, and weekends.
The successful candidate must also have access to their own transportation to travel to work assignment at locations across the county.
Must be able to repeatedly lift voting equipment and computer support items weighing up to 50 pounds.Voter Registration : The successful candidate must be a Maryland registered voter or must register to vote in Maryland prior to date of hire.
Background Check : The successful candidate must pass a Criminal Justice Information System background check in accordance with the State of Maryland Rules of Security Behavior of Board of Elections Officials and Employees.Effective August 30, 2021 all new hires will be required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus prior to their first date of employment. Individuals who are unable to be vaccinated should contact OHR@montgomerycountymd.gov to discuss possible accommodations.

Montgomery County Ethics Law : Except as provided by law or regulation, the County's "Public Employees" (which does not include employees of the Sheriff's office) are subject to the County's ethics law including the requirements to obtain advanced approval of any outside employment and the prohibitions on certain outside employment. Experience: Two (2) years of experience related to the position providing data processing/technician and support services to technology users or technology specialists.
Education: Graduation from High School Certificate of Completion recognized in the State of Maryland.
Equivalency : An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.Preferred Criteria
