On a mission as a Community Development Financing Institution (CDFI) to expand economic opportunity and celebrate and honor the accomplishments of Michigan women, Michigan Women Forward (MWF) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead MWF's development efforts in West Michigan to support MWF's work. MWF's mission is to create an inclusive economy so all Michigan women and girls can reach their full potential. As our Executive Director, you will be the architect of our continued successful community support and will play a pivotal role in the organization's growth and impact in West Michigan. This position leads all aspects of fundraising, event sponsorship, community & foundation support, and will assist in leading MWF's business development efforts for West Michigan (Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Kalamazoo metropolitan areas). To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a results-driven and collaborative environment while leading strategies to prospect, cultivate and manage donations, corporate sponsors, as well as business relationships related to MWF's lending and small business support initiatives. This leader will serve on the MWF leadership team & reports directly to the CEO based in Detroit. You will develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies and build meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and the community. Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Director role is a full-time leadership role based in West Michigan.

  2. Eager to put your thumbprint on our future by actively participating in our strategic planning and budgeting process.
  3. Have vision, focus, and a proven track record in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies and outcomes with at least five (5) years of fundraising experience and a relevant Bachelor's degree (or substantial experience in lieu of). Expanding reach and impact through diverse revenue streams such as grants, community events, speaking engagements, local & state government funding is what you do best.
  4. Enjoy being the face and voice of MWF's mission. From representing MWF at public events and community engagements, you're naturally influential and always bringing program and mission awareness to others with a compelling call-to-action. You are highly articulate and can adapt your approach to resonate effectively with a diverse group of clients, donors, and supporters.
  5. Share your creative and engaging writing gifts through storytelling, annual report development, grant writing and collaborate on all statewide marketing and communications that will fuel our growth.
  6. Approach fund development with a strategic and donor-centric philosophy, nurturing meaningful key relationships with corporate and foundation funders alike.
  7. Have acuity to detail with strong research and analytical skills and impeccable follow-through. You're well versed in managing a budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and making data-based decisions in partnership with the SE Michigan Development Director.
  8. Is a collaborative statewide leader who understands the diversity & complexity of Michigan.
  9. Can articulate & help the CEO lead a statewide organization.
  10. Thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing, collaborative, results-driven, and complex environment. You lead a small, yet mighty, high-performing team with transparency, empowerment and collaboration.
  11. Value autonomy and flexibility, yet appreciate clarity, support and accountability for results. You excel in a hybrid work environment but understand that relationships are built and fostered at gatherings and community events outside of a typical office schedule.
  12.
