ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, but other duties may be assigned):

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute plans for opening operations in new markets.
  • Conduct thorough research on target markets, including regulatory requirements, market trends, and consumer preferences.
  • With guidance from stakeholders, develop comprehensive plans (go-to-market, phased in operations, detailed timelines, RACI charts, pro formas based on operating and working capital requirements, etc.) based on research findings, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress and address any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets, making adjustments as needed to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with and direct relevant internal back office (accounting & finance, HR, marketing, product, operations, etc.) and operational execution teams to ensure project success.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support project implementation.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in opening new operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may involve leading and coordinating cross-functional teams.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively are must-haves for this role.
  • If applicable, required to obtain certificates or licenses within 90 days of employment that are required to operate in existing markets. Additionally, will need to be able to obtain certificates and licenses in new markets as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field preferred. Experience may substitute a degree.
  • Previous experience in project management, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with the cannabis industry and its regulatory landscape is highly advantageous.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

  • Business acumen: You deeply understand business fundamentals, potential growth and cost drivers, and can translate complex information into actionable operational plans in the context of driving business performance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role may require occasional travel and remote work, but initial training and subsequent staff training may take place in office settings. The work environment may include exposure to cannabis-related products and processes.
