The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, translating data to meaningful financial insights to support data-driven decision-making in an objective and timely manner. Our centralized Finance team comprises approximately 45 professionals based primarily in Vancouver and supports our business throughout Canada and the U.S. We are a large private company operating and reporting to a Board of Directors with the mindset of a public company. This is a hybrid work opportunity based in Metrie’s headquarters in downtown Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify financial insights through data-driven quantitative and graphical analyses
• Support in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables to the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board of Directors, such as the monthly Forecast Report to SLT and the quarterly Management’s Discussion and Analysis to the Board
• Support in the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process, including challenging key assumptions and evaluating trends
• Support ad-hoc financial analyses
• Innovate and continuously improve the quality, speed, and reliability of reporting and analytics, ensuring the business is continuously challenged to improve profitability

What background will make you successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or equivalent, or MBA degree
• A minimum of four years of experience in financial analysis roles CPA or CFA is an asset
• Extensive financial analysis and modelling experience, including scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis, ideally within large, complex multi-site and cross-border organizations
• Strong analytical skills, with expertise logically examining data, drilling into data and understanding components, and identifying and drawing meaningful performance trends and financial insights
• Demonstrated ability to distill large data sets to determine relevant information
• Experience with corporate performance management and reporting tools (e.g. OneStream) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)
• Inquisitive with a desire to understand a broad range of commercial issues
• Meticulous attention to detail while keeping in perspective the bigger picture
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and good judgment

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at $90,000 to $115,000. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
