Due to the continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Senior Energy Manager to join our Sustainability team. This role will be based at our People Hub office in Orlando, FL. Hybrid-working and international travel makes up a large portion of this role, so the right candidate must be willing and able to travel and be within commutable distance to the office when there is a need to work from a Merlin site. Compensation for this opportunity ranges from $70,000- $85,000 depending on experience.

About the Role... 

In this role, you'll work closely with the Group Sustainability Director to ensure compliance with energy, sustainability, and environmental regulations. You'll also manage the Green Capital Expenditure (Capex) fund, promoting project alignment and encouraging engagement.Your responsibilities include verifying utility and carbon efficiency project effectiveness, conducting on-site audits at Merlin sites, and collaborating on programs to improve employee energy and carbon efficiency.Additionally, you'll analyze energy and carbon data to drive efficiency improvements and prioritize building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external consultants.

Qualifications & Experience

About You...

• Experience of carrying out surveys, reviewing new technologies, and submitting recommendations after full evaluation relating to energy efficiency and carbon reduction
• Proven programme and project management experience in delivering building services projects ideally, but not essentially with an energy and carbon reduction outcome
• General organizational techniques to manage business-as-usual workload priorities
• Prior experience in energy analysis and profiling, energy audits for existing buildings
• Appropriate degree or equivalent knowledge and experience, ideally in a general sustainability, environmental, engineering, or building services discipline
• Specialist knowledge and experience of energy management, technologies in the decarbonization sector and target setting
• Considerable experience working in general energy efficiency-centric position
• Demonstrable experience of working within, on behalf of, or alongside a large estate function
• Professional Membership of a recognized industry body, working toward Chartered Status (CIBSE, ASHRAE, IEMA, Energy Institute etc.) advantageous
• The ability to travel internationally for a minimum of 50% of your working year
