Mercy Medical Center - Cedar Rapids is Hiring a CS Technician II - Central Sterile - Mercy Medical Center - Cedar Rapids Near Rapids, IA
- Cleans and inspects instruments for cleanliness and/or damage, including scope equipment.
- Assembles instrument trays.
- Packages and sterilizes trays, instruments, and linen.
- Delivers sterilized trays, instruments, and linen to floors.
- Picks up dirty trays and instruments from floors.
- Completes required testing for sterilizers and washers.
- Completes required documentation for Central Sterile.
- Assists vendors/reps as needed.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills in relationship to prioritizing needs of the department and the OR and serves as a positive role model and mentor.
- Orients and mentors new employees.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and troubleshooting skills for CS and equipment.
- Must read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently.
- Perform simple math.
- Able to work with frequent interruptions and handle multiple tasks.
- Meets qualifications and responsibilities of the Central Sterile Technician.
- Serves as a model of service excellence for the department.
- Participates in decision making activities.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent strongly preferred. Relevant experience to be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Graduate of Surgical Technology Program preferred.
- Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician certification required.
- Medium: Exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10-15 lbs. of force frequently
