About the Team:

The Medidata Manager, Project Management manages the Project Management team for assigned market segment.

Responsibilities:

Aptitude for and proven track record of people leadership in all of the following areas:

  • Management of resources who are responsible for large, complex projects, and/or resources who are responsible for their own team
  • Leadership and development of direct reports including activities such as hiring, performance management, coaching, mentoring, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Manage work assignments and utilization for direct reports, leveling work across resources as needed
  • Identify individual strengths and assign tasks to make most efficient use of human resources, while in parallel identifying growth and development areas
  • Coach and train new and junior team members
  • Apply proven project management principles in problem solving for advanced challenges
  • Proactively assess risk, develop and communicate mitigation strategy focusing on preserving quality
  • Identify process improvements or new offerings and drive strategy to execution
  • Lead, plan, organize, and track completion of internal initiatives to meet corporate goals
  • Lead collaboration efforts between and forge relationships with cross functional teams within and outside Patient Cloud, at the individual contributor and at the manager level
  • Support governance across Market Segment, maintain accountability for all actions related to Patient Cloud
  • Recommend and/or lead program-level client onboarding experience as applicable
  • Represent Project Management for support at the pre-award stage for new or existing customers
  • Support development and operational readiness of new Patient Cloud offerings inclusive of document creation/updates and rollout to teams
  • Possess, or plan to earn, industry certification such as PMP; regularly enroll in continuous education/talent development offerings

Qualifications:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of clinical research (pharma/device/biotech) and of clinical research SaaS technology
  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate complex issue and risks thus minimizing escalations
  • Solid analytical and technical skills with regard to software applications
  • Exhibit a flexible, team-player approach
  • Exhibit time management skills along with strong collaboration and teamwork
  • Ability to manage individuals on team to foster team growth and subject matter expertise
  • Ability to mentor other team members and serve as a leader across the team
  • Ability to synthesize working procedures and to develop, document and deliver usable best practices in a software and/or pharmaceutical/clinical trial environment
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives relation to department best practices for scaling
  • 4-year college degree
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in clinical/biomedical and/ or software development environment preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years prior line management experience, including performance reviews, hiring, mentoring/coaching, etc.
  • Experience working in a regulated, documented environment.
  • Experience supporting and implementing business process improvement initiatives and managing processes with continuous improvement approach
  • Experience supporting multi-level teams, complex projects or programs, and meeting project timelines
  • SME level experience in industry and/or with the Medidata platform preferred

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
