Job Summary and Qualifications

• Under the supervision of the Critical Care Director, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the operations at the unit, coordinates the departmental function and plan for the delivery of patient care while containing costs, and maintains working conditions.
• Will ensure adherence to the hospital and departmental business/strategic plans and to nursing procedures, standards and practices at all times.
• Acts as a resource and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for the purpose of optimizing patient care and resource usage.
• The Nurse Manager will recognize the population specific needs of the critical care patient and apply the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviors to meet those needs when performing patient care activities.
• The Nurse Manager functions will be performed in accordance with the standards, practice acts, and licensure in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

What qualifications you will need:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education and Training Experience Required

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Must be an expert clinician with critical care practice experience within the last 2 years.
• 2 years recent experience in supervisory position in a critical care area preferred.
• Positive interpersonal skills; leadership ability and skills, proactive problem solving; basic computer skills; excellent critical thinking skills.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• RN with current license to practice in the State of Texas.
• BCLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• National Nursing Certification, preferred.
