Group Financial Controller - Exciting Growth Opportunity

Media.com is seeking a Group Financial Controller based in New York to assist with the scale-up of the Media.com business and other investment interests within a family-owned group of companies.

You will work closely with the group's founder to oversee the finance, accounting and capital requirements of the US group of companies. This includes helping coordinate debt and equity capital raising activities, managing the company's share register, and day-to-day accounting activities.

The role is ideally suited to a CFO or Financial Controller who is experienced in preparing a company to be capital ready and ensuring compliance requirements are satisfied. A background in law is a bonus.

The role

The key duties include:

• Management of the group's US accounting and tax compliance requirements
• Compliance associated with capital raising activities including issuing stock certificates and maintaining share registers
• Maintaining the group's books including bank reconciliation
• Processing accounts payable
• Processing staff payroll and entitlements
• Develop sound financial strategies with the founder and management team
• Implementing budgets and cost controls
• Participating in investor presentations
• Liaising with the group's overseas finance department

In this role you will be the first US-based person in the finance team however will be part of a broader group of companies and have strong support from the founder who is based in New York.

Experience

To be a successful candidate, you should have the following experience and capabilities:

• 10 years experience as a Chief Financial Officer or Financial Controller
• At least 2 previous roles in businesses that have undertaken capital raisings
• Strong familiarity with US (Delaware) filing requirements
• Ability to be hands on with basic through to complex accounting tasks
• Strong leadership and management capabilities
• Well organized, diligent and outcomes-driven

Remuneration

Negotiable. Potential to increase as the business grows.

Work arrangements

Full time office-based (Manhattan) or hybrid available.
