Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our team. As an MDC BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that enable informed decision-making and drive business growth. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 or more years experience performing database development (preferably SQL Server), similar years of data analysis experience, as well as 2 or more years working with data transformation tools, and also understand dimensional modeling. Experience should also include working with various reporting engines (ex. SQL Server Reporting Services), Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE/OAS) or similar ROLAP/OLAP tools, and include proficiency with data transformation engines (ex. SAP Data Services, Integration Services, or similar). Experience with IBM TM1, either on-prem or cloud, is a bonus.
Responsibilities
Development and maintain source SQL and TM1 Turbo integrations (TI code) for the IBM TM1 Cloud application
Troubleshoot, resolve issues, as well as suggest and make improvements to the existing TM1 structures
Design, develop, and implement end-to-end BI solutions, including data models, ETL processes, dashboards, and reports
Develop and optimize SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
Design, develop, and support other integration applications, built using SAP Data Services, .Net C#, PowerShell, REST or SOAP API's, and windows command line processing
Create and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting information
Develop and execute test cases to ensure data accuracy and system performance
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for BI solutions
Work together with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives and projects
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BS, BA, etc.) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
2 years of database development and data analysis experience
2 years of data transformation experience
A good understanding of dimensional models (Star or Snowflake schemas)
Proven experience as a BI Developer or similar role, with a strong understanding of business intelligence concepts and methodologies
Proficiency in SQL programming and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
Hands-on experience with BI tools and technologies, such as TM1, Oracle OBIEE/OAS, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Excel Power Pivot, or similar
Experience developing applications with C#, PowerShell, Java, and C is desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions within deadlines
Certifications in BI and analytics technologies is a plus
