SUMMARY

Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association, producers of Maola Local Dairies products, is seeking an experienced and creative Internal Communications Specialist to enhance employee communication. In this role, you will build and implement communication strategies and internal marketing initiatives that are designed to inform and engage our cooperative’s 750 employees on prioritized topics. This individual should be a creative, enthusiastic storyteller who can work across teams and with various executives to generate compelling stories and content ideas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop communications that engage our employees and inspire pride in their workplace.
• Experiment with new, creative ways to reach employees with the news and information they care about – and engage and align them with our cooperative initiatives.
• Research, write, edit, and publish communications with quality and accuracy.
• Serve as a trusted internal communications partner across multiple departments, including human resources, plant operations, and information technology (IT).
• Ensure our employees see themselves in our communications by implementing a more holistic approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Routinely measure and report on the impact of internal communications.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent written and oral communications skills with attentiveness to detail.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Suite to get the job done, including SharePoint and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated individual requiring minimal direction.
• Experience with cellphone photography and social media.
• Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
• Able to work with all levels of employees, including senior leaders.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in communications in communications, public relations, or business and at least one year of related experience.
OR
At least five years of communications and/or public relations experience.
