Northwest Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Communications Specialist Near Herndon, VA

Overview:

Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) is in search of a dynamic Communications Specialist to spearhead our communication initiatives. We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating the kind of brand awareness that informs, inspires, engages and builds trust that translates to business impact. The ideal candidate will orchestrate comprehensive communication strategies tailored for both internal and external stakeholders. In this pivotal role, you will craft and disseminate engaging content to fortify the credit union's communication endeavors.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement integrated communication strategies, including the creation and execution of detailed communication plans
  • Manage communication strategies across diverse internal and external audiences
  • Enhance brand engagement for the credit union through effective communication tactics
  • Define strategies and oversee the execution of external communications to promote understanding of credit union products
  • Manage public communications and media relations programs
  • Craft CEO communications and speaking points with strong writing skills
  • Serve as the primary media contact and proficient in writing press releases and crisis communications
  • Analyze market trends and demographic data to inform communication strategies
  • Utilize corporate communication technology tools to promote corporate initiatives and business development
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelors degree in English, Marketing or Communications or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Communications
  • Proven track record for developing and deploying a formalized long-term strategic planning process for multiple stakeholder audiences
  • Ability to take initiative and lead projects from conception to final execution
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated effectiveness managing multiple projects concurrently and meeting priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency across all communication channels
  • Proficiency in digital communication platforms and social media management
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated creativity and conceptual thinking
  • Ability to work effectively on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters and equally effectively remotely
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Preferred

  • Financial Institution experience
