MCKINLEY HALL is Hiring a Children's Case Manager Near Springfield, OH

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and carry out activities on behalf of the children in the program
  • Assist the treatment team in identifying familiar problems and needs within the families in the program
  • Supervise and interact with children while mothers are in treatment until daycare is located
Responsibilities
  • Establish relationships with other agencies in order to provide necessary services for the children in the program
  • Establish a rapport with clients and their children to ensure continuity of care and provision for services
  • Assist clients with necessary paperwork and contact individuals involved with children’s support services
  • Coordinate the interaction with service agencies, legal authorities, and all concerned parties with the client and act as the client’s advocate in obtaining legal services
  • Coordinate and facilitate children’s activities to address self-esteem, conflict resolution, anger management, and impulse control (to include filed trips and fundraisers)
  • Facilitate enrollment in Head Start and other preschools
  • Help clients to access outside childcare resources
  • Advocate in the community for clients and for the treatment program
  • Ensure medical needs of children are met
  • Coordinate and provide transportation for clients as necessary
  • Participate in treatment team staffing
  • Inform supervisor of important developments regarding the children and their needs
  • Comply with agency, state, and accrediting body requirements b documenting and completing required paperwork
  • Ensure client understands her rights by explaining client rights procedure with regard to the Federal Confidentiality Law
  • Maintain funding source standards by meeting productivity budgeted requirements
  • Represent the agency in the community
  • Maintain database regarding services provided to children
  • Meet criteria of funding sources
  • Assists other co-workers with client care responsibilities when needed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in social work or related field
  • One year experience working with children
  • Must meet ODADAS standard for service providers
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Necessary:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw complex conclusions
  • Knowledge regarding how to access services in the community for children
  • Ability to work as a member of a team with excellent communication and listening skills
  • Mobility among various job sites
  • Good driving record and insurable with agency insurance without an increase in premium
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends
Post Hire Offer Requirements:
  • Negative TB test, and urine drug screen
  • Acceptable criminal background check required.
Post-hire Requirements:
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and established contacts
  • Participate in annual CPR and First Aid training
  • Comply with safety and infection control standards
  • Become thoroughly familiar with the Ohio Laws regarding children in treatment
  • Acquire training/education for job and self-development as approved by supervisor
  • Obtain cultural competency training
Unusual Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to clients with alcohol and other drug related problems.
  • Potential for exposure to Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis, and other blood borne or airborne pathogen diseases.
  • Requires transporting clients in an agency vehicle
