Under the direction of the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of benefit plans, and maintains contact with all personnel while observing confidentiality in all client and firm matters. The ideal candidate will be a professional with excellent communication and organization skills with strong attention to detail. This position is based out of the New Orleans, LA office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Review and process benefits enrollment including open enrollment and COBRA
-Maintain benefits data in the HR/Payroll system
-Maintain benefits files and reconcile and process vendor invoices
-Conduct orientations for new hires across the Firm
-Assist with administration of the 401(k) Plan and plan 401(k) Committee meetings
-Perform other duties as requested
Qualification and Skills
-Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in person, via email, phone or online with a diverse group of attorneys and staff, and provide information with courtesy and tact, while safeguarding confidentiality
-Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks completing all under time and while maintain a high degree of attention to detail
-Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential
-1-3 years similar experience preferred
