Job Description:
To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be a current student enrolled at McDaniel College. This position is open to both work study and campus employment students.
Position: McDaniel College First Year Experience (FYE) Peer Mentor
Revision Dates: 10/2023
Reports to: Associate Director of the First-Year Experience and Transition Program
Department: Academic Life
Salary: Educational Stipend (up to $450)
FSLA Status: Non-exempt
Location of Appointment: Various Classrooms, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD, 21157
Duration of Appointment: February/March 2024 - December 2024
Scope: Peer mentors represent and model all the positive qualities of a McDaniel student. Peer mentors will provide academic, personal, and social support for first-year students making the transition to the McDaniel College community. Additionally, peer mentors will assist the FYE team with various first-year activities, including Student Success workshops and freshmen highlight events.
Basic Responsibilities:
Peer mentors drive the First-Year Experience for new students by fostering an inclusive environment that helps new students develop strong identities as McDaniel community members.
