Job Description:

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be a current student enrolled at McDaniel College, with work study as part of your Financial Aid package.

This is a community partner site that pays students through work study funds. Students are responsible for own transportation to this location (located .3 miles away from campus).

Position: Carroll Arts Council Special Events Support

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary Grade: Tier 1

Location of Position: Carroll County Arts Council, Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St. Westminster, MD 21158

Duration of Appointment: Fall and spring semesters of academic year

Scope: Provide event support to Arts Council staff by performing Box Office and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Serve customers of gift shop and box office
• Event preparation and clean-up
• Post and organize promotional materials in the Arts Center building
• Answer phones, print and copy materials, and other administrative duties as needed
• Staff theater, gallery, and other special events (PEEPshow, Gallery of Gifts,
• Festival of Wreaths, etc) including ticket scanning, ticket sales, ticket look-up, concession sales, ushering, general customer service
• Stock concessions

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate student at McDaniel College
• Eligible for work study through Financial Aid package
• Computer literate
• Good customer service skills and good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task

Physical Characteristics:

This position requires sitting and standing as well as some bending when stocking concessions. This position requires lifting of up to 15 pounds. The overall setting is in an area conducive to a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
