Summary

The Human Resource Generalist supports the company's Human Resource needs by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements, government reporting and regulations that affect the organization and its employees.
  • Maintains company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency with company values and legal requirements. Regularly reviews employee handbook to ensure the same. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Manages company HRIS document filing system (UKG's Document Manager).
  • Prepares reports for census data; prepares reports requested by management.

Benefits Administration

  • Updates eligibility due to new hire, life events, open enrollment; and COBRA.
  • Promotes enrollment and communication of company 401k.
  • Responds to employee questions regarding benefits, employee assistance, and other services administered through Human Resources.
  • Processes monthly bills for health, dental, vision, disability, and ancillary insurance.
  • Processes monthly billing for Workers’ Compensation.

Leaves of Absence

  • Manages employee leave of absence, ensuring compliance with policies and government requirements regarding leaves; and communicating, tracking, designating, maintaining documentation, coordinating with other leaves; managing health insurance during leave; maintaining communication with employee; and return to work status.

Workers Compensation

  • Administers all aspects of Workers’ Compensation; receives and manages claims; maintains communication with injured employee; tracks leave time, if any; maintains notes and documents treatment; progression; restrictions for limited duty return to work availability; release to fully duty; reporting and communicating with carrier; coordinating with other leaves; managing health insurance during leave; ensuring compliance with policies and government requirements regarding leaves; assisting with the renewal process.

Employee Relations

  • Works with employees and management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Years of Experience

Minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Education/Certification

High School or equivalent 

Preferred Skills

Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel

HRIS, Payroll Processing, timekeeping, (UKG Pro)

Leadership, Employee Relations

Professional Certification

Two or Four - Year degree in related field and/or combination of education and experience

Multilingual- Speaks English and Spanish fluently

Using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs

Software

Using computer software applications, e.g., Microsoft Office, to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save.

Other

Reliable transportation is needed to get to and from work, remote work is not available for this position.
