Mattern House, Inc./Ganister Station is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Duncansville, PA

We are seeking experienced applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources. This position will direct and oversee the human resource department for two non-profit sister agencies. This role will be based at the Mattern House, Inc. program/medical office in Duncansville, Pa.

Mattern House, Inc. is a residential habilitation provider for adults with intellectual disabilities currently operating 9 homes in Blair County. This role will also include oversight of human resource functions for Ganister Station, an Adult Day Care facility for adults who are intellectually disabled which includes locations in Williamsburg, Mineral Point, Windber, and Somerset. Travel may be required during work hours. A company car may be provided pending employee approval through the company's auto insurance policy.

As the Director of Hunman Resources, job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, lead, direct, develop, coordinate and implement policies, processes, training, and initiatives to support Mattern House’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Oversee the daily workflow and all operations of the human resource department by providing supervision, guidance, direction and discipline, as needed, to human resource personnel.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruitment, and retention.
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs and develop and execute marketing and recruitment strategies for hiring.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Oversee, and sometimes handle, discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment laws and applies knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years human resource management experience required.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance with employment laws & regulations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are a must.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
