Wholesale Account Manager


We are searching for an experienced Wholesale Account Manager at our Palmer HQ facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Wholesale Account Manager will have an understanding of technology applications and how they can be leveraged to meet the needs of MTAs largest wholesale customers. They will develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision makers to achieve revenue and margin growth, and customer retention in an assigned territory of prospective and/or current customers within a market and/or product grouping. Additionally, this position is a liaison between the Carrier sales team, engineering teams, installation groups and the end customer to keep orders and requests on schedule. Orders may vary from simple to very complex. The primary objectives are meeting sales goals, providing excellent customer service and working with internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery in accordance with customer and company expectations.

SPECIFIC TASK DESCRIPTION

  1. Business development/relationship with prospective and key customers. Develop an intimate familiarity with customer’s core business and their market growth opportunities. Maintain detailed knowledge of industry trends and issues of importance to assigned customers and industry segments. Negotiate and maintain contracts for services within account module. Identify appropriate MTA products and services to meet the customer needs, developing proposals to customers, closing, and ensuring sales are properly executed and billed.
  2. Collaborates with other MTA organizations to determine their needs/requirements to support service delivery, support, reporting and billing. Monitors and follows through to ensure resolution of support issues and addresses problems regarding compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  3. Leads operational review meetings with customers to ensure positive processes and SLA adherence. Maintains Escalations contact records for Provisioning, Maintenance and Billing contacts with MTA and 3rd party providers.
  4. Maintains current knowledge of products, services and network issues that impact customer agreements. Remains current on the special access tariff and any rules related to processing requests. Identifies and addresses issues and works with management to ensure agreements are updated and executed to include additional requirements as needed. Addresses customer concerns and requirements as needed to ensure complete supportability of customer needs.
  5. Develops and implements Personal Sales Plan to meet or exceed company and individual goals in assigned base of strategic accounts. Prepares analysis and special reports reflecting activity and results of sales efforts and presents to management. Collaborates with other services staff to provide customer input. Meets with supervisor on an individual & ongoing basis to forecast results, opportunity pipeline, and deal support.
  6. Responsible for facility checks for project quotes and inputting and tracking sales orders, communicating any requirements or delays, watching the billing elements and a final review before orders are closed.
  7. In all work activities, seek ways to reduce costs, increase productivity, and minimize expenditure of Association resources, while maximizing the level of service to internal and external customers.
  8. Performs other duties as requested.
Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, appropriate work experience is acceptable, experience may be substituted on a ratio 2:1, two years’ experience equals one year education.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Ten (10) years of sales experience, of which three years must be experience in telecommunications, obtained in the last five years. Supervisory experience preferred.

Experience must demonstrate the individual's ability to coordinate well with a wide variety of professionals working on the sales, delivery, and customer support side of telecommunication.

SUPERVISION

May supervise a group of employees (2-5) who predominately perform complex tasks.

EFFECT OF ERROR

Errors in employee’s normal work activity may put employer at substantial risk. Most errors may be substantially corrected within one year after identification. Correction may require a high level of disruption of normal resource allocations in other departments as well as their own.

JOB SCOPE

The individual employee is seen performing a multiplicity of functions or professional procedures, which go beyond repetitive operations. The tasks assume a greater complexity; they are likely to require creativity and a demonstration of vocational and/or professional initiative. These activities require a working knowledge of the operations of several departments.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Job responsibilities are generally non-routine and may involve issues affecting several departments. Problem solving requires considerable research and analysis. Independent judgments may establish precedent within the Association. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Exposed to mildly unpleasant conditions, such as recurring pressure due to fairly frequent deadlines.
