Reporting to the Care Coordination Manager, the Case Management Resource Specialist (CMRS) works collaboratively with the Discharge Planning RN Case Manager; providing direct administrative support to the discharge planning processes and to the department. The person in this position will spend time on the Mass Eye and Ear's inpatient clinical units and have direct interaction with patients and their families, clinical and ancillary hospital staff, and other internal and external customers. The CMRS must have effective communication skills and the ability to converse comfortably with patients and their caregivers, department staff, and unit-based staff. The position requires a high degree of flexibility, independence and willingness to participate in multiple activities and provide support to all members of the Care Coordination Department.
1.Some college or Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
2.Minimum of 2 years relevant healthcare experience required
3.Excellent assessment and creative problem-solving skills
4.Demonstrates effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Demonstrates ability to function as a team player.
5.Strong organizational, time management and priority-setting skills. Goal oriented and accountable.
6.Proficient in written and verbal communication.
7.Ability to work independently and with little supervision
8.Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
9.Excellent computer skills
