7.75 hours per day (6:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) - 182 days per year (Monday-Friday)

Job Summary: 

The District Licensed PracticalNurse (LPN) will be responsible for extending nursing services where suchhealth service is needed to monitor specific student health. The District LPN will work one-on-one with specific student(s). The District LPN will also provide service as needed whilestudent(s) are being transported to and from school.

 

MinimumQualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Licensed Practical Nurselicense maintained for duration of job
  • Experienceworking with children
  • 1stAid & Adult/Child CPR training maintained for duration of job
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experienceand/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity preferred
  • SuccessfulWashington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation FingerprintClearance
  • Proofof Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)
  • I-9Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and ControlAct
  • Completionof all district-required training within thirty (30) calendar days from hiredate

 

Essential JobFunctions:

This list ofessential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented asnecessary. Depending upon individualassignment, the employee may perform all or a combination of several of thefollowing duties:

  • Assist in State mandated screening as required
  • Follow nursing procedures required for school attendance to boththe general education student population and the medically handicappedpopulation according to Nurse Practice Act
  • Communicate with parents regarding student health concerns andillnesses
  • Alert staff to health concerns of students on a need to knowbasis
  • Follow health related IEPs and attend IEP meetings as requested
  • Provide care from individual health care plans
  • Participate in continuing education classes required to maintainnursing license
  • Attend nursing, health services, and community health relatedmeetings as required
  • Follow health related policies and procedures
  • Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regularwork hours
  • Professionally interact with students, staff, and public
  • Comply with all district policies and procedures
  • Perform related duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of Nurse Practice Actas it relates to school nursing
  • Knowledgeof current health care practice and nursing techniques and procedures
