Human Resources Generalist

Summary
The Human Resources Generalist serves as the primary consultant to an assigned customer base, focused on providing tactical support. The HR Generalist provides its customer base with HR Support, including coaching, performance management and employee development, employee engagement/relations, policy interpretation, and employment law.
Essential Job Functions:
Coach and support management team regarding performance management such that ER matter is managed appropriately
Support management team with EOAs, ensuring business cases are provided and impact analysis is completed
Ensure accommodations and LOAs are facilitated and administered timely and appropriately
Build a consultative relationship with leadership and establish credibility with all levels of management to enable successful implementation of the HR agenda and initiatives
Participate in program implementation process and job description creation
Support employee engagement activities and initiatives for designated stakeholder group, focusing on delivering an excellent employee experience
Advise management team on employment laws and company policies; advise leaders on how to use process and policy to manage risk and find the optimal solutions for the business and employee
Create and facilitate presentations on a variety of HR topics to ensure the stakeholders are in adherence with company policies, procedures, program, and state/federal employment laws/regulations
Identify training needs for assigned customer base and manager/individual executive coaching needs; work with Learning and Development Team to ensure effective development plans are in place
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
Deliver project work aligned to the objectives of the business
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Significant and progressive experience working within a Human Resources function within a fast-paced organization
Ability to present to small and large groups
Possess a strong commitment to integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including performance management, employee relations, organizational development, diversity & inclusion, and compensation
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of talent management
Exemplary oral and written communication skills
Excellent client management/stakeholder management and business literacy skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working with ambiguity
Flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels
Self-directed and motivated

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
PHR or SPHR certification preferred
4 years’ experience in HR (or related business) encompassing multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations, organizational development and design, talent development, performance management and other generalist responsibilities
Prior experience with multi-location/state HR support preferred
Ability to travel overnight as needed
