The Front Office Manager will manage the activities of the Front Office/Desk, PBX, Bellman by directing employees and implementing standards and performance in a manner that creates extraordinary guest service and department profits. Ensure that all activities within the Front Office focus and concentrate on complete guest satisfaction.
The Marina Inn at Grande Dunes is currently seeking a Front Office Manager.
Duties will include: leadership of guest registration, guest services, guest reservations, telephone services, and night audit. This leader is responsible for creating the service culture at the property.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assists in the training of all Guest Services employees; coaches and counsel’s employees regarding career and personal developments; and conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to employees and assist in preparation of 10-day forecasts.
· Resolves all guest concerns.
· Required to work Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts as scheduled.
Oversees the daily functions of the Front Desk including:
· Leading a team of Guest Service Agents and Bell staff in Front Office Operations.
· Registering of guests into the hotel in a prompt and courteous manner.
· Using up-selling techniques to maximize revenue.
· Preparing for group arrivals, by working with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready.
· Being informed of events/functions in the hotel during shift.
· Processing payment for departing guest’s according it established policies and procedures.
· Maintain a high level of employee motivation and encourages the participation of employees in all decisions.
· Effectively handles guest concerns.
· Assists in driving the review & follow up of guest reviews.
· Work cohesively with all operating departments in the hotel.
· Maintains control of the daily room inventory and is aware of any special requests, VIP’s and Brand rewards guests in the hotel.
· “Hands on” and “Lead by example” approach with day to day operational duties and/or special projects as required.
· Oversee the lobby area and back office for cleanliness, maintenance, security and functionality.
· Awareness of security in hotel at all times.
· Work in conjunction with the mangers to evaluate levels of Guest Scores. Monitor trends, with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Create and post a weekly schedule for team members in accordance with business levels.
· Responsible for payroll processing of the front desk department.
· Completes purchase order requests and submits invoices to the Accounting team in a timely manner, following up with suppliers when needed.
· Any/ other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/ Experience:
· Minimum of 3 years of Front Office/Guest Services experience required.
· Previous Management/Supervisory experience required
· Previous work with loyalty programs and guest relations considered an asset
· University or College degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management/ Business Administration considered an asset
· Health & Safety Committee experience is considered an asset
Skills:
· Strong written and computer skills & communication and presentation skills
· Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of Management and Associates.
· Displays a positive attitude, maintains enthusiasm and celebrates success
· Planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
· Knowledge of PMS/POS Systems
