Located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, just blocks from Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center, Margaritaville features 235 guest rooms as well as signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts.

LandShark Bar & Grill is our 3 meal restaurant with garage style doors opening to the corners of 6th and J St. Serving guest favorites like the signature LandShark burger, fish sandwiches, tacos, and fresh salads, LandShark puts a contemporary twist on classic American beach fare. Coastal-inspired menus, live music, and views of downtown San Diego complete the breezy beach bar vibe.

5 o’Clock Somewhere, the largest downtown rooftop pool space with a hip lounge and dining area boasting live entertainment 5-7 days a week. The venue features 168 seats – 18 at the bar, and 150 seats with tables. On the poolside, there will be 42 pool chairs, including day beds and cabanas.

Overview

The Marketing & Entertainment Coordinator holds a crucial position vital to the success of marketing endeavors, activations, and entertainment acquisition within the hotel. This multifaceted role encompasses aiding in the orchestration of live entertainment for diverse hotel venues and events, overseeing administrative duties within the marketing department, and fostering business growth for the hotel and its outlets through distinctive events and activations. The principal objective of this position is to elevate guest attraction via marketing and advertising while enhancing the guest experience through live entertainment and activations and assisting with all hotel marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in event planning, entertainment coordination, or sales within the hospitality industry is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, entertainers, and clients.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in using sales software, CRM systems, graphic design platforms such as Canva, and Microsoft Office suite.
• A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on achieving sales targets.
• Knowledge of the restaurant industry, including food and beverage trends, customer preferences, and market dynamics.
• Creativity and an understanding of current entertainment trends to deliver unique and engaging experiences.
• Proficiency in using technology and social media platforms for marketing and promotion.
• Manages time well, correctly prioritizes and is flexible.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
