Purpose of the Role:

The Credit Analyst will be a member of the Risk department and will be primarily responsible for performing financial statement analysis of the firm's counterparties and prospective new accounts. Will assist with database integrity, report writing using Power B1 and Perseus, administering and updating Credit Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform written counterparty credit analysis through analyzing audited and interim financial statements to assess their credit quality and recommending appropriate credit limits. Assign a rating via our internal methodology and adherence to our delegation of authority.
  • Conduct counterparty due diligence to achieve a better understanding of complex new accounts and the risk profile for anticipated levels of transactions.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our client base’s risk profile commensurate with the Firm’s risk appetite
  • Manage the collection of up-to-date financial information for existing accounts.
  • Review and analyze credit utilization reports and investigate limit breaches and over-limit conditions.
  • Assist with improving existing credit risk reporting and exposure evaluation.
  • Evaluation and understanding of risk associated with individual transactions, products, portfolio risk, of borrowers and counterparties.
  • Ability to soundly manage and justify rationale for potential one-off limit increases to exercise credit authority within delegated authority.
  • Validating approved limits within delegation of authority and registration in risk monitoring systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

  • At all times complying with Marex’s Code of Conduct
    • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
    • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required
    • To escalate risk events immediately
    • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in capital markets credit risk management.
  • Detailed understanding of futures markets, OTC market, repo market, and securities lending.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with varying levels of authority.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
