Manhattan Charter School is Hiring a School Operations Manager Near New York, NY

The Manhattan Charter Schools Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the elementary and middle school operations on a day-to-day basis. They are responsible for overseeing various administrative functions, managing facilities and resources, and implementing policies and procedures to support the overall functioning of the school. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Main Office Coordinators:
  • Supervise the main office coordinator at each building in their daily tasks, including reception duties, managing incoming calls, and supporting administrative functions.
  • Provide guidance and training to the main office coordinator to ensure efficient and professional operation of the school's front office.
  • Collaborate with the main office coordinator to streamline processes and improve customer service for students, staff, parents, and visitors.
  • Facilities Management:
  • Coordinate repairs, renovations, and upgrades as needed.
  • Develop and implement protocols for emergency preparedness and security procedures.
  • Building Safety Management:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety protocols to ensure the well-being of students, staff, and visitors within the school premises.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the school facilities to identify safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate safety drills and training sessions to prepare staff and students for emergency situations, such as fire drills, lockdowns, and evacuation procedures.
  • Liaise with local authorities and emergency services to establish effective communication channels and response protocols.
  • Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and best practices to continually enhance the school's safety procedures.
  • Oversee the school's IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, software, and digital resources.
  • Collaborate with IT external vendors to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of computer systems, servers, and other technology assets.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to safeguard data security, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on the use of educational technology tools and platforms.
  • Coordinate the procurement, installation, and upgrades of IT equipment and software in alignment with budgetary constraints and educational goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues and escalate complex issues to appropriate stakeholders or technical support resources.
  • Collaborate with educators to integrate technology into curriculum delivery and assessment strategies, fostering digital literacy and innovation in teaching and learning practices.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Supports communication between network leadership, school administration, staff, parents, and external partners.
  • Foster positive relationships with community members and organizations to support school initiatives.
  • Policy and Procedure Implementation:
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Develop and update operational policies and procedures as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff in understanding and adhering to policies.
  • Other as assigned by the Executive Director or their designee

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in school administration, operations management, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in education administration.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,182.72 - $75,069.51 per year
