Job Title: After School Program Coordinator

Position Overview:
As the After School Program Coordinator at Manhattan Charter School, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of our after school programs across multiple campuses. You will work closely with school administrators, staff, and community partners to create engaging and enriching experiences for students that complement their academic learning and support their holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Planning:

  • Collaborate with school leadership and stakeholders to design and implement after-school programs that align with the charter network's mission and values.
  • Develop a comprehensive program schedule that includes academic support, enrichment activities, and recreational opportunities.
  • Identify and secure resources, materials, and partnerships to enhance program offerings and meet the diverse needs of students.

Staff Management and Training:

  • Recruit, hire, and train after school program staff, including instructors, tutors, and volunteers.
  • Provide ongoing support, supervision, and professional development opportunities for program staff to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration, creativity, and student-centered approaches.

Student Engagement and Support:

  • Implement strategies to promote student engagement and participation in after school programs.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, and provide support and intervention as needed to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with school counselors and support staff to address the individual needs of students and promote their social-emotional well-being.

Family and Community Engagement:

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide information about after-school programs, upcoming events, and student progress.
  • Organize family engagement activities, workshops, and events to promote collaboration between families and the charter network.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and agencies to enhance after school program offerings and resources.

Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop and implement evaluation tools and methods to assess the effectiveness and impact of after school programs.
  • Collect and analyze data on student participation, outcomes, and satisfaction to inform programmatic decisions and improvements.
  • Solicit feedback from students, parents/guardians, staff, and stakeholders to identify strengths, challenges, and areas for growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, youth development, social work, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience working in after-school programs, youth development, or education settings.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of best practices in after-school program management, curriculum development, and student engagement.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in programming and practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,628.23 - $70,000.00 per year
