Title I Summer Enrichment Program 

Program Coordinators

(2 total - 1 K-2; 1 Gr. 3-5)

Qualifications: 

1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
2. Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
3. Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of standards based curriculum in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics.
4. Relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
5. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and
6. administrators. 
7. Coordinator must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

Qualifications (Preferred):

1. Valid Massachusetts Administrator license as a principal/assistant principal and/or supervisor/director.
2. Previous experience leading summer or after school programs preferred.
3. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
4. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
5. License in Special Education.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Coordinate referral process and coordinate registration/scheduling of students including all communications with principals, teachers, and parents.
2. Order/process materials.
3. Coordinate implementation of literacy and math instruction during the program.
4. Meet with curriculum directors in reading and math to develop and plan for summer instruction.
5. Maintain student attendance records.
6. Write a program evaluation document.
7. Coordinate pre- and post-assessments on all students in literacy and math.
8. Coordinate staff development meetings including 2 in-service days.
9. Support inclusion of a key professional development practice, i.e. reciprocal teaching, QAR, or other strategy within the summer program.
10. Coordinate with Title I Office to maintain payroll records of teachers.

Duration: 

Program Administration and Implementation 176 hours total to include the following: 

· Professional In-service Days June 17 - 18 (5 hours each day).

· 18 days, Monday-Thursday, from June 24 - July 24 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.). 

· Pre/Post Program Work: 66 hours (April – August).

Stipend: $37 an hour, $6,512.00 total
