Title I Summer "MS Credit Recovery" Program 

Instructional Coach - Middle School

Qualifications (Required): 

1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
2. Successful teaching, coaching, and/or administrative experience.
3. Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of targeted, small-group literacy and numeracy instruction for teachers.
4. Relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
5. Previous experience with summer and/or intervention programs preferred.
6. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and
7. administrators. 
8. Instructional coach must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

Qualifications (Preferred):

1. Valid Massachusetts Administrator license as a principal/assistant principal and/or supervisor/director.
2. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
3. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
4. License in Special Education.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Support referral process and registration/scheduling of students.
2. Meet with the program coordinator and Title I Director about curricular resources needed for the program. 
3. Collaborate with the program coordinator about the planning and scheduling of small-group instructional ‘WIN’ blocks in literacy and numeracy.
4. Oversee all disciplinary regulations and keep detailed notes of all disciplinary incidents during the program duration.
5. Plan, implement, and lead the instructional professional development to summer staff the week before the start of the program.
6. Support teachers in administering formative and summative assessments in both their small-groups and whole-group credit-recovery classes.
7. Analyze the pre- and post- data at the conclusion of the program.
8. Model and co-teach small-group instruction in literacy and numeracy for program staff.
9. Supervise instructional implementation during the five weeks of the program.

Duration: 

Program Administration and Implementation 115 hours total to include the following: 

· Professional In-service Days June 17 - 18 (5 hours each day).

· 18 days, Monday-Thursday, from June 24 - July 24 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). 

· Pre/Post Program Work: 33 hours (April – August).

Stipend: $37 an hour, $4,255 total
