MALDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS is Hiring a Coordinator - MLL Summer Enrichment Grades Rising [Summer 2024] Near Malden, MA

Title III Summer Enrichment Program Program Coordinators

(1) Rising Gr. 3-8 (1) Rising Gr. 9-12

Qualifications: 

  1. Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
  2. Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
  3. Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of standards based curriculum in WIDA ELD Standards Statements
  4. Relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.

Qualifications (Preferred):

  1. Previous experience leading summer or after school programs preferred.
  2. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinate referral process and coordinate registration/scheduling of students including all communications with principals, teachers, and parents.
  2. Monitor & coordinate field trips
  3. Coordinate implementation of literacy and math instruction during the program.
  4. Meet with curriculum directors in reading and math to develop and plan for summer instruction.
  5. Maintain student attendance records.
  6. Write a program evaluation document.
  7. Coordinate staff development meetings including 2 in-service days.
  8. Coordinator must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

Duration: Program Administration and Implementation 130 hours total to include the following: 

  • Professional In-Service Days July 2 - July 3 (5 hours each day). 
  • 18 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 8 – August 1 (8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) 5 hrs day
  • Pre/Post Program Work: 30 hours (April 15 – August 21).

Stipend: $37 an hour, $4,810.00 total

Funding Source: Title III Grant
