Makina Café, NYC's premier Ethiopian-Eritrean Eatery is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our growing team! We have a commissary kitchen with pick-up and delivery, an OG Food Truck, and a satellite food operation on Governor’s Island. The Assistant Manager will support the teams on site to ensure that day-to-day business operations of Makina Ethiopian-Eritrean Eatery run smoothly.
The Assistant Manager will assist with weekly schedules, ordering product, team training, recruiting,
promotions and planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Assists with everything from project planning to staff management.
• Nurtures positive working relationships with staff, treating everyone with professionalism, care and respect.
• Delegates daily tasks.
• Addresses any issues in a timely fashion.
• Supervises staff and helps control product quality.
• Has a Passion for quality food preparation and taste
• Ensures company policies and procedures are followed.
• Sets a good example for staff.
• Cultivates a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
• Manages daily business planning, budgeting, training, quality improvement, continuous improvement, and spending control processes.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education: High school diploma 
Experience Required: At least 2 years’ experience in the food industry, catering preferred.
Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Company standards.

Salary: $55,000-$65,000
